If you are looking for a soft adventure that combines a bit of activity, with culture and natural beauty, this is the trip to choose! Only four hours from Hanoi, Mai Chau valley is the gateway to North West Vietnam. This area confirms all the postcard fantasies – limestone mountains overlooking peaceful valleys, terraced rice paddies and traditional villages. You ride along quiet village roads and have a unique opportunity to discover traditional village life that has experienced very little change over the centuries. Your trip starts and finishes in Hanoi

Day 1: Arrival in Ha Noi (-/-/D)

AM: Meet up at Noi Bai Int'l Airport then transfer to Ha Noi center for check-in
PM: Check and fit your bikes
Day 2: Ha Noi - Hoa Binh: 80 km (B/L/-)

AM: Cycle out of Ha Noi and head for Hoa Binh town, stopover on the way to visit: the Van Phuc silk village, approximately 12km southwest of the capital, then continue on to the Ho Chi Minh Trail Museum and the final stop is at the Dau Pagoda, whose origins date back to the 3rd century.
PM: From Dau Pagoda, we cycle the remaining 50km to Hoa Binh town.
Day 3: Hoa Binh - Mai Chau - Lac village: 65 km (B/L/-)

AM: Set off for Mai Chau town, as the road becomes very steep in parts we combine cycling with driving in the support vehicle. Upon arrival in Mai Chau, move to the nearby White Thai village of Lac to have lunch in a traditional stilt house.
PM: Cycling to discover some of the neighboring villages in the valley then return to the Lac village
Day 4: Lac village - Van village: 22 km (B/L/-)

AM: Cycle for Van Village through some beautiful countryside en route, along the way, we pass through several Thai and Muong hamlets.
PM: Along the valley floor and constantly surrounded by stunning scenery, arriving at Van village by late afternoon. There is time to walk around this charming little village before dinner. The village is also home to the White Thai people, but unlike Lac it has remained completely unchanged by the advent of tourism. Tonight we will be their guests in one of their traditional stilt houses.
Day 5: Van village - Lac village - Ha Noi: 20 km (B/L/-)

AM: Return to Lac by taking a very different route. Today's cycling will probably be the hardest so far as we climb hills and descend into valleys. As before we will pass through many Thai and Muong villages who are sure to greet us with smiles and quite possibly a degree of fascination! Arriving in Lac around midday, we once again take a well-earned lunch in the village.
PM: Short free time for rest before join the support vehicle for the return drive to Ha Noi
Day 6: Ha Noi Departure (B/L/-)

AM: Take a city tour of Ha Noi: Visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Museum, One Pillar pagoda, Temple of Literature and Quoc Tu Giam - The First University of Vietnam, Quan Thanh Temple and Tran Quoc Pagoda.
PM: Transfer to Noi Bai Inl't Airport for departure, stop on the way to visit Museum of Ethnology if the time permitted.
